Driving Positive Change
Clifton Packaging Launches  Free Employee Shuttle
Clifton Packaging, a leading UK flexible packaging manufacturer, now managed by Cartonpack Group, an A&M Capital company, has launched a free shuttle bus service for employees as part of its ongoing ESG and employee wellbeing initiatives. The new service operates eight trips a day, providing over 50 journey per week for approximately 50 employees, supporting a range of shift patterns across Clifton’s two sites in Leicester.

By encouraging shared transport, the initiative is helping to reduce individual car journeys, lower emissions, and ease local traffic congestion. The shuttle programme forms part of Clifton Packaging’s wider sustainability strategy, which also includes the company’s full transition to certified green energy from June 2025 onwards.

Shane D’Souza, CEO at Clifton Packaging, said: “Of all the initiatives we’ve introduced, this is the one that gives me the greatest sense of pride because it reflects exactly what we stand for as a business, combining sustainability with genuine support for our people. By providing a free and reliable commuting solution, we’re reducing emissions while making everyday life easier for our workforce.”

Gianne Leone, CEO at Cartonpack Group, added: “This is about doing the right thing for our people and the planet. By reducing car usage and making sustainable travel easier, we’re continuing to strengthen our environmental efforts while supporting our staff day to day.” The service also helps employees manage rising fuel costs and reduce commuting stress by offering a dependable, cost-free travel option.

Adding a personal touch to the initiative is the return of former company chauffeur MS Ibrahim, known to colleagues as ‘Ibby’, who has come out of retirement to drive the shuttle bus for the team. Ibby said: “It’s great to be back doing what I enjoy, whether it was chauffeuring company directors in the past or now driving the minibus for the staff It’s great to see the management team at Clifton Packaging adding this resource to help the wider workforce.”

This initiative reflects the group’s evolving priorities, with increasing focus on supporting the wider workforce while continuing to strengthen environmental performance. The shuttle service is one of many programmes being introduced across the group to deliver measurable ESG outcomes, including lower emissions, improved employee wellbeing, and a stronger, more connected workforce.
